Simple Image Access Protocol

CVO provides Simple Image Access Protocol (SIA version 1.0) services to access imaging data from the BLAST, CFHT, CGPS, HST, IRIS, JCMT, and MACHO data collections.

Features:

• many of the images returned will be multi-extension FITS files containing mosaic camera data, so complete WCS imformation is no longer applicable
• the footprint of the image is given using STC-S as deccribed in the TAP 1.0 standard
• images stored in multiple files (typically a small set of images at the same location and time) may be returned as a text file (content-type: text/tab-separated-value) containing URLs to the files
• the accessURL is for the complete image; we will be adding a cutoutURL column to the output in the future
• although we only return FITS images, we will be adding a previewURL column to the output in the future (to get graphics format like jpg or png)
